This project saw us transform the lounge and dining room of a residential property in Knowle with beautifully crafted 18mm engineered oak plank flooring, creating a warm, timeless finish that flows seamlessly between both spaces.
The first stage involved the full removal of existing carpets from both rooms. With the subfloors exposed, we carried out detailed checks to ensure they were suitable for installation. Any minor imperfections were addressed to provide a solid, level base — a crucial step when installing engineered boards using a secretly screwed fixing method.
The chosen flooring was an 18mm engineered oak plank, installed using a secret-screw system. This method offers excellent long-term stability while keeping fixings completely hidden, resulting in a clean, premium finish. It’s an ideal solution for busy living areas, combining strength with refined aesthetics.
overing a total area of 30 square metres, the new oak flooring instantly elevated both rooms. The natural grain and tone of the oak added warmth and character, while the continuous plank layout helped create a sense of space and cohesion throughout the ground floor.
The homeowners were delighted with the transformation — replacing tired carpets with a durable, stylish flooring solution that will stand the test of time and add real value to the property.
